North and Wild

Owner and Photographer Laura Stockemer

Originally from the middle of Kansas, Laura moved to Alaska in 2011, not planning on staying long. She fell in love with the peace and beauty of the state and will forever call Alaska home.

Coming from a small farm in Kansas, she has always owned horses and played with photography in her youth in 4-H. Winning awards and having displays in the Kansas capital. Before she moved North she was training horses and competing in ranch riding, reining and cutting. There wasn’t that opportunity in Alaska so she found herself in the rodeo arena in Alaska.

Between riding and photography, Laura has been able to enjoy both arts in Alaska throughout the years.

Beyond her main passions, you can find her out hiking and camping, exploring the state, trying to keep plants alive, hunting for northern lights, and staying busy trying to plow herself out of the snow in the winter.
